Too Faced LOVE palette REVIEW

If you read my previous post My TK Maxx Bargains then you will have seen that I manged to grab a Too Faced eyeshadow palette for just £14.99 when it is retailing in Debenhams for a whopping £39. BARGAIN!

In the palette you get 15 shades, and 1 full sized eyeliner pencil in black. The palette is split into 3 ‘looks’ each containing 5 shades to create a look with. Also in the packet, there are slips of card showing you 2 different looks per shadow section, one for the daytime and one for night. I found these really handy, although the look on my eye never represents the look on paper accurately!

At first glance, I love the packaging! All my other shadow palettes are one colour, usually black, and they’re just very simple. However this one is funky, it’s a lovely colour scheme and I think it represents the name great. The actual eye shadow colours are lovely, they’re all similar but have different tones so the looks you can create are all really different. The shadows all blend out easily with a fluffy brush, and they are pigmented enough, some of the paler shades do swatch ‘shimmer’ rather than ‘colour’ but they can be built up to a pretty shade. There isn’t any fall out at all, I tap my brush slightly before applying and there’s nothing to clean up. The colours last all day too, I use a shadow primer and they don’t crease or dull. The only downside I find with this palette is that the shades are all shimmery! I love a shimmery eye but I can’t wear a shimmer shade in the crease, it’s just too much for me so therefore I have to use another palette alongside this one which then makes travelling with it not very convenient.

My favourite part of this palette has to be the eyeliner! I didn’t realise in the shop that it came with one, so when I first opened the palette up it was a huge, very welcoming surprise! I love wearing eyeliner but I very rarely try any new ones, I have my favourites and that’s what I stick to because I like it to be black, and sometimes they can be quite grey. However this eyeliner is brilliant! It glides on easily, doesn’t drag on your eyelid and leaves a very black line. It’s quite a soft pencil, almost like gel? And it does blunt after only a couple of uses meaning you have to sharpen it often. In the long run it could become expensive to keep repurchasing. I’ve never tried a Too Faced eyeliner pencil before but I’m presuming that the one in this palette will be a similar if not the same formula as their Perfect Eyes eyeliner.

Overall I am really impressed with the quality of this palette, there is nothing that I hate about it, and it’ll definitely not be the last Too Faced palette that I purchase!
